Vivid and touching the author, Beatrice Bischof, describes the life of her mother, the actress Steffi Stroux,  in her book: “Steffi Stroux: Achterbahn ins Glück: Mein Leben im Showgeschäft der 50er Jahre” (Verlag Lebensreise, 88 Pages) (Roller Coaster into Happiness: My Life in the Show Business of the 50s)

The famous American actor Kirk Douglas, appreciated the young colleague, warning her about America. His appraisal: she´s simply too good for America. Steffi Stroux already shooted several films with German stars such as Theo Lingen, Gert Fröbe, Heinz Erhardt and many more. When she was elected as official “Rose vom Wörthersee” 1951 in a contest organized by the government of Carinthia, Austria, her home country, her way into international Show Business seemed destined.

But fate changed her way. One learns of the thrilling ups and downs of her life, her friendship with many famous stars of her time. Her story runs like a varied film making it a book well worth reading. With many interesting views inside the film business of the 50s, private meetings with actors and directors of the time, but also the description of her grave accident, the consequences she had to bear…
